About the SDSU Furniture Design & Woodworking Artist Residency
The SDSU Furniture Design and Woodworking program is pleased to offer a renewed year-long Artist in Residence opportunity beginning in the summer of 2026. Designed to support emerging and established artists working in furniture and related practices, this residency provides time, space, and community for creative growth and exploration.
Residents will join our vibrant studio environment from July to July, engaging with both undergraduate and graduate students while developing their own body of work. The residency includes unrestricted access to studio space, participation in a dynamic academic program, and culminates in a comprehensive exhibition and printed catalog of the work created during the year.
Two residency cycles are available: July 2026 – July 2027, and July 2027 – July 2028. Selected artists will be welcomed into the SDSU community and supported as they deepen their practice in an inclusive, collaborative setting.
